This was our second visit to Xel-Ha and it doesn’t get old! The first time we went to Xel-Ha, we arrived there in the afternoon after taking the Tulum tour in the morning and we were so disappointed that we didn’t have enough time at Xel-Ha that we promised ourselves we would return and spend all day there next time. This time, we arrived when it opened, left when it closed, and we still wished we had more time at Xel-Ha! We could have spent another full day there without running out of things to explore. Xel-Ha is a stunningly gorgeous natural park of ocean inlet, lagoon, and cenotes that merge with the world’s largest underground river currents. Xel-Ha calls itself “the world’s most beautiful natural aquarium.” more at

Cenote Maya is only accessible through a private guided tour. This tour through Alltournative was strongly recommended to us by a local in Playa del Carmen and we were so glad that we took his advice. The tour begins with a visit to the magnificent archaeological site of Ek Balam and ends with lunch and a refreshing cool off at the Cenote Maya......for more see
